The former minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar- Fatouq said she remain proud to have served her country as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with every sense of responsibility and would defend my actions, stewardship and programmes during her tenure whenever she is called upon to do so.
Umar- Fatouq stated this in a series of tweets she posted on X, snd denied any knowledge of James Okwete, a contractor linked to her following his arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to have allegedly laundered N37 Billion during her tenure as minister.
Sadiya Umar- Farouq said James Okwete is completely unknown to her. neither worked for, nor represented her in any way whatsoever. Adding that, The linkages and associations to my person are spurious.
-“While I resist the urge to engage in any media trial whatsoever, I have however contacted my Legal Team to explore possible options to seek redress on the malicious attack on my person.”
