A London court has sentenced 18-year-old Hassan Sentamu to life imprisonment for murdering 15-year-old Elianne Andam in Croydon over a dispute involving a teddy bear.

Sentamu, who was 17 at the time, stabbed Elianne repeatedly after an argument over returning personal belongings. The judge condemned his “senseless and evil” actions, highlighting his aggressive tendencies and lack of remorse.
He will serve a minimum of 23 years before being eligible for parole.
Elianne’s father, Michael Andam, expressed his heartbreak, saying the thought of her final moments torments him.
The case adds to growing concerns over knife crime in the UK, which Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called a “national crisis.”
