Tinubu Renames University of Maiduguri To Honour Late President Buhari

President Bola Tinubu has renamed the University of Maiduguri in Borno State to Muhammadu Buhari University of Maiduguri in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. This decision was formally announced during a special session of the expanded Federal Executive Council (FEC) dedicated to celebrating Buhari’s legacy. National leaders, including the Senate President, Speaker of the House, ministers, governors, and other dignitaries, gathered to pay heartfelt tributes to the late president.

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, praised President Tinubu for choosing education as the sector through which Buhari’s legacy would be immortalised. He emphasized that the renaming reflected President Tinubu’s respect for Buhari’s contributions and his belief in education as a foundation for national development. According to Alausa, this act demonstrates Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to human capital development and continuity in national renewal.
