Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov has revealed his plan to divide his $17.1 billion fortune among 106 children—six of whom are biologically his and over 100 conceived through anonymous sperm donations in 12 different countries. In an interview with Le Point, Durov emphasized that he considers all of them equally his children, regardless of how they were conceived, and they will receive equal rights to his estate.
However, none of the children will have access to the inheritance until June 19, 2055. Durov explained that he wants them to grow up as ordinary individuals, earn their success independently, and not be reliant on wealth from an early age. The decision to allocate his estate early stems from what he described as the risks associated with his controversial position as a tech entrepreneur.
Durov is currently facing legal battles in France, where he was arrested in August 2024 under allegations that Telegram hosted illegal content. He remains under judicial supervision but maintains his innocence, stating that no evidence has proven his guilt. He attributes his legal troubles to his firm stance on digital freedoms, which, he claims, has earned him powerful enemies.
