Troops of Operation Safe Haven have rescued 16 passengers kidnapped along Jos Mangu road in Plateau state.
According to report, the troops were conducting Operation Lafiyan Jamaa when they discovered an empty vehicle abandoned by the roadside at Mararaba Kantoma in Mangu local government area of the state and quickly launched a search and found the kidnappers and their victims in a forest.
The kidnappers on sighting the troops opened fire but were overwhelmed with superior fire power forcing them to abandon the victims and rescued all 16 of them.
First aid wss administered to some of the rescued victims by the soldiers.
