According to Reports gathered, The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has granted seven leading marketers the permit to lift and sell fuel produced by Dangote Petrochemical Ltd.

The development is in line with government’s effort to deepen the fuel market and address the challenges faced by marketers in accessing the product.
The seven leading marketers are Conoil Plc, Oando Plc, Mobil Plc, TotalEnergies Marketing, MRS Plc, Matrix Energy Ltd and Forte Oil Plc, according to sources.
The DPR approved the licenses for the firms to begin the lifting of the Dangote fuel product.
However, the DPR, which regulates the oil and gas sector, said the lifting of the product was subject to the consent of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), which has jurisdiction over depot operations.
DPR said that the regulatory role of the agency will be confined to monitoring to ensure that “all safety and regulatory guidelines for product transportation are complied with by the marketers and the truck owners.”
DPR also noted that it has taken the decision in order to checkmate malpractices and eliminate the incidences of under-dispensing and the sale of adulterated products.
