Senate Sexual Harassment Allegation: Akpabio Reportedly Withdrawn From Investigation Panel

Reports are indicating that without an official explanation, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has reportedly withdrawn from a presidential panel constituted to investigate the allegation of sexual harassment against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central senatorial district, allegations that has sparked national controversy.

Akpabio’s alleged withdrawal from the investigation was revealed by the President of Citizens Quest for Truth, Oby Ndukwe on Saturday, May 3, 2025, when he featured on Channels Television programme ‘Politics Today’.

According to reports, the presidential investigation panel was constituted by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 is chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Other members of the panel include the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Attorney General of the Federation, and one representative each from Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Akpabio’s withdrew from the panel is seen by political observers as fuelling more speculations of his involvement in the sexual harassment allegation.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on Thursday, March 6, 2025 by Akpabio-led Senate for her refusal to accept a sitting arrangement amongst other things which she told the senate the act was a way of silencing her.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan vowed that she would continue her case against Akpabio in court where she would present evidence.
