SDP Kaduna Rejects El-Rufai’s Membership, Denounces State Exco Dissolution

The Kaduna State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has disassociated itself from former Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, stating there are no proper records of his membership. At a press conference, Alhaji Idris Inuwa, SDP’s Assistant National Secretary (North-West), also rejected the purported dissolution of the State Working Committee, calling it unconstitutional.

Inuwa accused certain individuals of attempting to hijack the party and reaffirmed that the current State Executive Committee was duly elected and holds a four-year mandate. He condemned the dissolution as illegal, arguing that proper procedures—including investigations and fair hearings—were not followed.

Additionally, he dismissed the establishment of a caretaker committee as baseless and reaffirmed that party membership must adhere to due process. Despite rising interest in SDP, he emphasized that prospective members must comply with existing guidelines.
