President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating terrorism and strengthen Nigeria’s international partnerships.
Speaking before a closed-door Federal Executive Council meeting at the Aso Rock Villa, Tinubu noted that his administration is actively engaging global partners to promote peace, stability, and economic growth, pointing to the oversubscription of Nigeria’s $2.3 billiin Eurobond as evidence of renewed investor confidence..
He emphasized the importance of pursuing national development with “clarity of purpose” under the Renewed Hope agenda.
His remarks follow recent tensions sparked by U.S. President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” a label the Federal Government has criticized as inaccurate.
The president also reassured citizens of the country’s unity and resilience, urging his cabinet members to remain focused on implementing reforms. He commended their dedication and stressed that collective effort and cooperation are essential to achieving long-term national prosperity.
