As part of measures to address the recent multiple bomb explosions that killed 24 people in Maidugur, Borno State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said he had ordered security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to coordinate operations on the ground and assured residents of Borno State that the Federal Government will intensify efforts to defeat insurgents.

While expressing deep sorrow, president Tinubu described the incident as painful, he mourn those who lost their lives, sympathise with the injured and stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the attacks as the “final desperate and frantic attempts” by terrorists who are increasingly under pressure from Nigerian security forces.
According to him, the attacks carried out on Monday were “desperate acts of evil-minded terrorist groups.” Our gallant military and civilian task forces will curtail and put them down,” Tinubu added.
“I want to make it categorically clear that these acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to instil and spread fear, as they are under constant pressure from our brave armed forces and security agencies operating in various theatres,” he stated.
Tinubu emphasised that security forces would continue to intensify operations against criminal and terrorist groups across the country. We will continue to intensify our efforts against all criminal elements, wherever they may be,” he added.
“I must commend the courage and fighting spirit of our patriotic troops who successfully repelled the coordinated attacks by these terrorists on military positions in the state,” he said.
