The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) following an increasingly attacks that led to loss of lives and properties in the area.

More than 13 people were killed in new attacks within some communities in the LGA.
Residents in the affected communities narrates how bandits invaded Pushit and Sabon-Gari on Saturday night, while some residents were injured and houses burnt.
In other to avoid reoccurrence, escalation of the situation, the state government announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew in Mangu.
In a statement signed by the governor’s Director Of Press And Public Affairs, Gyang Bere the decision to impose the curfew was taken after consultation with the state security council which is to restore law and order in the affected communities.

As a result of the stay-at-home order, movements within the local government area have been banned until further notice except security personnel and persons on essential duties while security agencies have been directed to enforce total compliance of the order.
The governor assured citizens of the security of lives and properties and restoration of peace and security in the state.
Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, who visited the scene with personnel of the Joint Security Task Force with the commander and the troop staying back to monitor adherence to the curfew order.
The state Commissioner of Police, Bartholomey Onyeka, also visited the communities, where he addressed the youths on the importance of community policing.
Residents of Sabon-Gari, one of the affected communities, were still in mourning and counting their losses in the attack, which followed early warnings of an invasion from bandits.
