Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 election, has spoken out against two misleading videos that aim to damage his reputation.
He noted a deliberate effort by certain individuals to manipulate how the public perceives him.
One of the videos misrepresented his words from a recent speech in Anambra State, while another falsely showed him leading a protest in Abuja.
Obi explained that the Abuja video actually captured him mediating a disagreement between the Labour Party and the NLC at the party’s headquarters.
He condemned the spread of these fake videos, highlighting the harm caused by such deceptive actions.
In his response, Obi made it clear that he does not support those who try to push him into questionable alliances using dishonest methods.
By directly addressing these misleading tactics, Obi reaffirmed his dedication to honesty and transparency in politics.
His statement aimed to correct the misinformation and combat its negative impact on public perception.
According to reports , Obi said, “I have noticed some deliberate and well-orchestrated efforts by some persons to blackmail me into conforming to some of their nefarious agendas. Their dubious moves have led to the false circulation of a video from my recent keynote speech at the installation of Rotarian Professor A. U. Nnonyelu in Anambra State.
“Another video circulating online, supposedly showing me leading a protest in Abuja, is also false. The video was actually taken during my visit to the Labour Party HQ, where I mediated a clash between the Labour Party and the NLC.”
