Olubadan Disowns Olayiwola Over Forged Credentials and Misconduct

The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has officially disowned Sarafadeen Abdulrasaq Adekunle Olayiwola as the Mogaji of the Otepola Ibidapo Family, Moganna Compound, Isale Bode, Ibadan. This decision was made public through a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, following an investigation by the Chieftaincy Screening and Dispute Resolution Committee.

According to the committee’s findings during a meeting held on November 20, 2024, the certificate presented by Olayiwola was determined to be forged and declared invalid. Additionally, it was established that he was never officially installed as Mogaji by any recognized traditional authority within Ibadanland.

Further investigations during the Olubadan-in-Council meeting on May 19, 2025, revealed multiple instances of misconduct by Olayiwola. In response, the Olubadan has instructed him to immediately stop identifying or parading himself as Mogaji. A stern warning was also issued, stating that continued defiance would attract legal consequences and other appropriate sanctions.
