The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately dissolve the recently constituted National Census Committee, citing its alleged lopsided composition favoring the South-West. In a statement by spokesperson Professor Abubakar Jika Jiddere, the NEF accused the administration of pursuing a sectional agenda and ignoring constitutional principles of inclusivity and federal character.
The group warned that such practices could fuel national disunity and democratic instability. NEF further demanded a comprehensive review and equitable redistribution of all federal appointments across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to reflect Nigeria’s diversity.
