Nigeria approves 4 airlines for 2025 hajj pilgrimage transport

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved four airlines—Air Peace Ltd, Fly-Nas, Max Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Ltd. to transport intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj to Saudi Arabia.

This selection was made from 11 applicants by a 32-member screening committee inaugurated by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on November 26, 2024.

The committee included representatives from various aviation and regulatory bodies, including NCAA, FAAN, NAMA, NIMET, NSIB, NCS, and ICPC. Additionally, three excess cargo carriers were chosen for the operations.

NAHCON’s Executive Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, urged the approved airlines to fulfill their commitments. Meanwhile, he signed the 2025 Hajj Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdulfatah Masahat, in Jeddah to formalize the pilgrimage arrangements.
