“My Parents Grew Up in Nigeria, So Many of Their Values Have Been Instilled In Me”- Bukayo Saka

Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka said that the discipline, respect and sense of responsibility he is known for were nurtured long before he became a players. “Both my parents grew up in Nigeria, so many of their values have been instilled in me”, he said.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Bukayo Saka strsssef that his Nigerian heritage remains a defining part of who he is, even after growing up in London.

Reflecting on the values they passed down to him, “My name is Bukayo Moses Ayoyinka Temidayo Saka. I am very proud of it,” he said. He added that his identity is tied as much to his background as it is to the city where he was raised.

23 year old Saka, born in England to Nigerian parents, explained that the principles he learned at home have shaped the way he carries himself on and off the pitch.

He noted that the discipline, respect and sense of responsibility he is known for were nurtured long before he became one of Arsenal’s most influential players.
