As Aston Villa prepares to face Manchester United in a Premier League clash on Boxing Day, early team news suggests that the Villans are grappling with several key player absences and uncertainties.

As per Manutd.com on Monday, December 25, 2023, Aston Villa’s midfielder Emi Buendia and defensive stalwart Tyrone Mings are both undergoing rehabilitation for knee injuries sustained earlier in the season.
Unfortunately, their return to the pitch remains uncertain, marking them as long-term absentees for the upcoming fixture at Old Trafford.
Midfielder Boubacar Kamara, who was red-carded in a previous match against Brentford, will also be unavailable for the Villa side. Kamara’s suspension rules him out of contention for the Old Trafford clash.
Similarly, full-back Matty Cash, having accumulated his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season during Villa’s recent 1-1 draw with Sheffield United, is set to miss the match.
The fitness status of center-back Pau Torres adds to the uncertainty surrounding Villa’s lineup. Torres is currently nursing an ankle injury, and manager Unai Emery remains optimistic about his recovery.
Although Torres’s condition is reportedly improving daily, whether he will be fit for the clash at Match day 16 is yet to be confirmed.
Youri Tielemans, a former Leicester City midfielder, is set to be sidelined for the next couple of weeks due to ongoing issues with his calf. His absence poses a midfield challenge for Villa, as they prepare to face Manchester United.
Adding to Villa’s concerns is the assessment of forward Bertrand Traore, who has been grappling with a muscle problem. Traore’s recent absence from the squad is expected to continue, pending further evaluation of his fitness.
