Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has ignited a heated debate by declaring John Mikel Obi as Nigeria’s greatest footballer of all time.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
“Mikel Obi is the greatest Nigerian footballer of all time.”
His statement has since drawn mixed reactions, with some agreeing and others arguing that legends like Rashidi Yekini, Kanu Nwankwo, and Jay-Jay Okocha are more deserving of the title.
One user, @GideonGeorge, countered:
“Mikel is not the greatest but the most successful. The greatest is Okocha.”
Mikel Obi, who won multiple trophies with Chelsea and led Nigeria to victory in the 2013 AFCON, remains one of the most decorated Nigerian players, making the debate even more intense.
