Lokoja Road Accident Kills Six, Injures 60
Six people loss their lives and 60 were left injured on Tuesday following a tragic accident in Lokoja, Kogi State at 3:00 p.m when an articulated truck lost control near the ‘Zone 8’ Roundabout.
Kogi FRSC Sector Commander, Samuel Oyedeji, confirmed the casualties, with the deceased taken to Federal University Teaching Hospital mortuary.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with rescue workers struggling to clear the wreckage. Oyedeji urged drivers to exercise caution, especially with heavy-duty vehicles, and called for improved road safety measures and better infrastructure to prevent future tragedies.
