Libyan authorities have deported more than 150 Nigerian women and children under a UN-backed voluntary return program for irregular migrants.

The group, consisting of 160 women and 17 children, was flown out of Tripoli’s Mitiga airport on Tuesday. Libya, a key transit point for migrants attempting to reach Europe, has faced ongoing issues with human trafficking and undocumented migration.
More repatriation flights for migrants from Bangladesh, Gambia, and Mali are scheduled this week.
