Lagos to Enforce ‘No Truck’ Policy After Otedola Bridge Fire

The Lagos State Government has vowed to strictly enforce a “no truck” policy on Otedola Bridge following a gas truck explosion that occurred Tuesday night.

Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, confirmed that the truck violated state laws by ignoring a “no truck allowed” sign. He stated that the ministry would install barriers to prevent similar incidents.

Osiyemi blamed the accident on poor truck maintenance and revealed plans to collaborate with the FRSC to inspect and confiscate unroadworthy trucks.

Additionally, the government will conduct an integrity test on the Otedola Bridge and fix drainage cracks ahead of the rainy season.
