Afrobeat sensation Kizz Daniel has shared the heartbreaking inspiration behind his latest song, Al-Jannah. In a recent podcast interview, the singer revealed that the song was a tribute to several loved ones he has lost over the years, including his father, son, stepmother, and his wife’s mother. He described his late father as his best friend, emphasizing the deep bond they shared before his father’s passing in 2015.

The singer explained that the song’s title, Al-Jannah—which means “paradise”—reflects his desire to honor not just one person but all the loved ones who have passed away. He mentioned losing his son in 2021 and his wife’s mother in 2024, among others, noting that these painful experiences inspired him to create a universal tribute for anyone who has suffered similar losses.
Kizz Daniel said he intentionally used the word “friend” in the song to make it more personal and relatable. By doing so, he hoped to capture the shared human experience of grief and remembrance, offering comfort through music.
