The Nigerian Army said the arrest of an Investigative Journalist, Mr Fisayo Soyombo abd other suspects was made at the scene to an illegal oil bunkering site.
According to the Nigerian Army, the suspects were arrested following a recent intelligence that uncovered the activities of a notorious gang involved in pipeline vandalism and illegal oil connections in the region.
The Nigerian Army disclosed that Mr Fisayo Soyombo and others, are currently undergoing preliminary investigations to determine their level of involvement in the illegal activities and any claims suggesting otherwise are baseless.
“The Nigerian Army strongly urged media outlets to verify the accuracy of their reports before disseminating information to the public.”
