The House of Representatives has donated ₦705 million to support President Bola Tinubu’s humanitarian programmes, with members contributing 50% of their salaries for six months.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, speaking at an Iftar dinner hosted by Tinubu for the lawmakers, urged them to prioritize national unity and development over political differences.
He emphasized that history would judge them by their ability to build bridges rather than engage in personal battles.
Reflecting on the significance of Ramadan, Shettima called for renewed commitment to Nigeria’s stability and unity. He praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a visionary leader who values inclusivity and collaboration.
House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, who announced the donation, expressed gratitude for the President’s continuous engagement with the legislature.
He called for prayers for the country, urging Nigerians to reflect on the administration’s achievements and challenges.
The donation aims to support the President’s humanitarian efforts and assist vulnerable Nigerians, reinforcing the lawmakers’ commitment to the administration’s policies for national progress.
