Hausa and Fulani Youths Clash In Argungu Over Reckless Motorcycle Tiding

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has condemned the deadly communal violence between Hausa and Fulani youths over reckless motorcycle riding in Alwasa community, Argungu LGA of Kebbi State leaving three people dead and many others displaced.

Governor Nasir Idris r started this when he visited the affected community to condole with residents, and warned against further reprisals while directed security agencies to track down the instigator and assured that justice would be served. Stressed that a few individuals would not be allowed to disrupt this long-standing harmony.

According to reports, the e clash began with a minor disagreement between Hausa and Fulani youths over reckless motorcycle riding in Alwasa community  a Fulani youth allegedly stabbed a Hausa youth, prompting the suspect to flee. In retaliation, some Hausa youths launched an attack on a Fulani settlement, resulting in the death of two more persons. Most of the victims were innocent bystanders not directly involved in the initial confrontation.

The governor also announced ₦2 million compensation for each family of the deceased and emphasized that Alwasa had enjoyed over 100 years of peaceful coexistence between the two groups.
