Harcourt Refinery Recommence Operation After Years of Shutdown

In line with the federal government’s significant move aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of  president Bola Tinubu promise to ensure the Port Harcourt Refinary recommenced production of refined products at the facility in December 2023.

The minister of State for Petroleum (oil) Heineken Lokpobiri said this during an inspection tour of the rehabilitation work at the Port Harcourt Refinary plant.

The Port Harcourt Refinery, with a combined capacity of 210,000 barrels per day, is set to come on board as it begins operations today, Businessday has learnt.

The project is seen as a critical step towards boosting Nigeria’s domestic refining capacity and development after many years of underperformance and turnaround maintenance of the facility.
