A petition has been submitted to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, urging swift action to apprehend a young man identified as Timothy Gilbert is currently at large after allegedly bathing his girlfriend, Angela Ogah, with a substance believed to be acid in the Amufi area of Ikpoba Okha Local Government, Edo State.
The incident, which has shocked residents, was confirmed by Ogah’s lawyer, John Izegaegbe, who revealed that the victim is receiving treatment in a private hospital.
Izegaegbe appealed publicly for Gilbert’s arrest, stressing that justice must be served and that the authorities must act quickly to prevent him from evading accountability.
