Governor Oyebanji Appeals For New Military Base In Ekiti Border Community

As part of efforts to strengthen security in the area. The move is aimed at protecting lives and property while preventing future security breaches in the border community, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state has directed the establishment of an additional military formation in the Eda Oniyo axis of Ilejemeje Local Government Area.

Oyebanji who reaffirmed his government’s resolve to work closely with the military and other security agencies to tackle insecurity in the state, said the decision followed growing security concerns in the area and underscored his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents. He noted that increasing the presence of security personnel would enhance surveillance, improve response to threats, and reinforce peace across the affected communities.

The governor also urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security operatives, and promptly report suspicious activities to help maintain law and order.
