The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has vowed to impound commercial vehicles operating outside designated bus terminals in Abuja as part of efforts to improve traffic management and restore order across the Federal Capital Territory. He said commercial transport operators must comply with the approved transportation system and stop picking up or dropping off passengers at unauthorised locations.
The minister warned that enforcement agencies would take action against drivers who violate the directive, stressing that vehicles found operating outside designated terminals would be impounded. According to him, the measure is aimed at reducing traffic congestion, improving road safety and ensuring a more organised public transportation system in the nation’s capital.
He urged commercial vehicle operators and other stakeholders in the transport sector to comply with the government’s directives. He emphasised that the FCT Administration would continue to enforce regulations designed to improve mobility and maintain order on Abuja’s roads, warning that non-compliance would attract appropriate sanctions.
