The family of 30-year-old single mother, Olawale Noimot, has raised alarm over her disappearance after leaving her workplace at a hotel in Ikorodu. Her brother, Ibrahim Olawale, explained that neighbours first suspected something was wrong when her phone was picked up by an unknown person who claimed she had an accident and was taken to LASUTH. However, hospital staff confirmed she was never brought in.
Investigations revealed conflicting stories between Noimot’s friend and the hotel management. While her friend claimed she slept at the hotel, the manager insisted both women left the premises the previous night. Suspicion deepened when it was discovered that a man known as Alfa, previously linked to ritual killings, had been in contact with the hotel staff and was last seen with Noimot.
The family’s private efforts to track her phone showed it was last active about 500 meters from the hotel. Later, police investigations uncovered dismembered human remains at Alfa’s residence, though it has not yet been confirmed if they belong to Noimot. Witnesses also revealed that Alfa had been introduced to her by a colleague before they left the hotel together.
Despite these leads, the family alleges that the police have shown little commitment to the case. They also accuse the hotel owner of using money and influence to obstruct investigations. Meanwhile, some suspects, including Noimot’s colleague, gave inconsistent statements but were not detained by the police.
Frustrated by the slow progress and lack of support, the family has spent over one million naira on private tracking and legal efforts. They are now calling on Nigerians and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to ensure Alfa is arrested and a proper investigation is conducted, so they can confirm whether the remains found belong to their missing sister.
