The playlist, recorded at Buckingham Palace, showcases the King’s personal musical influences from across the Commonwealth, spanning multiple eras and genres.
Joining global icons like Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, and Grace Jones, Davido’s inclusion highlights Afrobeats’ growing influence on the world stage. His Majesty shared that the songs featured in the broadcast hold deep personal significance, evoking cherished memories and celebrating the unifying power of music.
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me… It brings us joy,” King Charles remarked in his introduction. The King’s Music Room premieres on Apple Music 1 on Monday, March 10, at 6 a.m.
