The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has issued a final warning to property developer Cecil Osakwe, mandating his appearance for arraignment on March 17, 2025. Osakwe, along with Victor Giwa and Edith Erhunmuuse, faces a nine-count charge, including illegal eviction, criminal intimidation, and property damage worth N300 million.

At the latest hearing, only Giwa and Erhunmuuse were present, while Osakwe remained absent for the fifth time. His defense counsel, Chibunna Odiniru, cited a serious medical condition requiring eight weeks of treatment abroad, submitting a doctor’s report as proof. However, the prosecution argued that Osakwe had repeatedly used medical excuses to delay proceedings since 2023.
Justice Samira Bature acknowledged the repeated adjournments but granted a final extension. She warned that failure to appear at the next hearing would result in a warrant for Osakwe’s arrest. Meanwhile, Erhunmuuse was instructed to secure legal representation before the next session, with the prosecution directed to assist in ensuring she has counsel.
