Unreleased music and other sensitive materials belonging to Beyoncé were stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta just two days before the start of her four-night Cowboy Carter tour in the city. The stolen items were inside a rental car used by her choreographer, Christopher Grant, and dancer, Diandre Blue. The car was broken into while parked outside a food hall on July 8, and several valuable items, including five jump drives containing unreleased songs, show plans, and tour set lists, were taken.

According to the police report, the rear window of the Black Jeep Wagoneer was smashed, and two suitcases containing personal and professional belongings were stolen. These included a laptop, designer clothing, and Apple AirPods. The victims told police the stolen drives contained highly sensitive materials related to Beyoncé’s ongoing tour. Authorities used tracking features on the laptop and AirPods to try to locate the items, and they were able to lift two faint fingerprints from the vehicle.
An arrest warrant has been issued, though the suspect’s identity has not been made public. As of now, it remains unclear if any of the stolen items have been recovered. The Atlanta Police Department is continuing its investigation, and the BBC has reached out to Beyoncé’s team for an official comment.
Beyoncé has been performing in Atlanta since July 10, with her final concert scheduled for Monday night. The tour, promoting her Cowboy Carter album, has drawn major attention, including a surprise appearance by her husband Jay Z on the third night. Both Mr. Grant and Mr. Blue have worked closely with Beyoncé in the past, with Grant having choreographed for major stars like Shakira and Blue featuring in Beyoncé’s 2024 Super Bowl ad.
