Native doctors and traditional medicine practitioners in Anambra State have protested against what they describe as selective justice and religious discrimination by the state government.

They accused Governor Charles Soludo of using Agunaechemba security operatives to harass them, stigmatize their profession, and violate their fundamental rights to religious practice.
Led by High Priest Ikele, the practitioners performed rituals and vowed to resist government interference, pledging to oppose Soludo’s re-election bid in 2025.
Meanwhile, the state government has arrested several native doctors, including Chidozie Nwangwu (Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki), Onyebuchi Okocha (Onyeze Jesus), and Ekene Igboekweze (Eke Hit), for allegedly promoting money rituals and aiding criminals.
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, clarified that the government is not against traditional worship but is focused on combating crime. The arrested individuals will face prosecution under the newly introduced Anambra State Homeland Security Law.
