As part of efforts to address outstanding obligations inherited from previous administrations and improve the welfare of retirees, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun Statehas said his administration has paid more than N80 billion in inherited pension liabilities owed to pensioners in the state.

Adeleke stated that his administration had delivered beyond expectations despite the financial challenges it encountered on assumption of office. He noted that settling the pension debt demonstrated his commitment to fulfilling government obligations and ensuring that pensioners who served the state were treated with dignity.
The governor said his administration would continue to prioritise policies and programmes that directly improve the lives of residents. He maintained that the payment of the inherited pension liabilities was evidence of his government’s determination to deliver on its promises and leave a lasting impact on the people of Osun State.
