Rapper and fashion mogul A$AP Rocky, legally known as Rakim Mayers, was found not guilty of two felony assault charges in a Los Angeles court.

The charges stemmed from a 2021 altercation where former friend Terell Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, accused Mayers of firing a gun at him, grazing his knuckles.
The jury’s decision came after a trial filled with emotional testimony and legal disputes over whether the weapon was real or a prop. The gun was never recovered, and surveillance footage provided only partial evidence.
The defense argued that Ephron was attempting to frame Mayers, highlighting inconsistencies in his story, including a delay in reporting the incident and the unexplained presence of shell casings.
Mayers, who maintained his innocence, expressed gratitude upon hearing the verdict, embracing his family and Rihanna, who attended court sessions with their two sons. With the trial behind him, A$AP Rocky is set to release his first solo album in nearly a decade and co-headline the Rolling Loud festival in March 2025. He will also appear in Spike Lee’s upcoming film, Highest 2 Lowest, alongside Denzel Washington.
