Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Radda, on Monday, laid the foundation for the construction of 152 housing units for Internally Displaced Persons in the state.

The IDPs were displaced due to banditry and insurgency in eight frontline local government areas.
The governor inaugurated the housing project in the Jibia Local Government Area, noting that the state would prioritise local sourcing of materials and manpower to boost economic development.
The project is being supported by the United Nations Development Programme as part of efforts to address the housing needs of vulnerable communities in the region.
The development will include essential infrastructure, such as connection to the national grid, a skills acquisition center, drainage networks, and road connectivity.
Speaking at the launch, Governor Radda emphasised the state’s commitment to ensuring the prudent and judicious use of resources provided by the UNDP.
We are not just building houses; we are rebuilding lives,” he asserted.
