FG GIVES CONSENT TO THE N35,000 SALAEY INCREMENT FOR WORKERS

The Federal Government has have given consent to the N35,000 salary increase for civil servants as announces by President Bola Tinubu in a national broadcast to marked Nigeria’s 63 Independence Day anniversary.

A statement endorsed by Malam Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, made the pronouncement made to the public in Abuja yesterday.

At the meeting, the Federal Government also acknowledged its resolve to speed-up the deployment of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to alleviate the strain on public transport caused by the dissolution of PMS subsidy.

The federal government also pledged to provide  cash for micro and small-scale businesses, as well as VAT exemptions on diesel for the next six months.  It also declared a payout of N75,000 to 15 million households at a monthly rate of N25,000 from October to December.

The NLC and TUC are said to be considering the offers by the government with a view to suspending the planned strike.
