Governor Mutfwang Congratulates Ezekiel Gomos On His Appointment As Director-General Of The Northern States Governors Forum

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State ,has confirmed and congratulated Nde Ezekiel Gomos, OFR, on his well-deserved appointment as the pioneer Director-General of the Northern States Governors Forum  following the Forum’s meeting held from 1–2 December 2025.

Governor Mutfwang in a heartfelt congratulatory message, described Gomos as a strategic thinker, renowned development economist, policy expert, and seasoned business trainer whose exceptional career spans public service, private-sector development, governance reform, and human capital advancement.

He noted that Nde Gomos’ decades of professional experience, shaped by impactful roles in high-profile institutions including the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the Plateau Investment and Property Development Company, and the Bank of Agriculture, have positioned him to contribute meaningfully to addressing the complex socio-economic challenges confronting Northern Nigeria.

Governor Mutfwang said Gomos’ holds degrees from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of East Anglia, UK. His global exposure includes the prestigious Hubert Humphrey Fellowship (University of Minnesota), British Chevening Fellowship, and UNDP Fellowship at the ILO Training Centre, Turin. He has completed senior executive programmes at the Harvard Kennedy School USA, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, USA and Durham University Business School UK.

The Governor further recalled Gomos’ exemplary service as Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, where he championed policy coordination, institutional strengthening, and key public-sector reforms.

He also highlighted his visionary role in co-founding the Jos Business School (JBS) in 2005, now a respected centre for entrepreneurship development, leadership training, and policy dialogue.

A statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Gyang Bere stated that, Governor Mutfwang stated that Gomos’ appointment reflects the Forum’s renewed determination to strengthen its Secretariat and reinforce a unified regional response to the evolving challenges in Northern Nigeria.

He emphasized that the creation of the Director-General’s office is a strategic step toward deepening coordination, enhancing proactive governance, and accelerating regional stability and development.

He described the appointment as a major boost not only for the Northern region but also for Plateau State, expressing full confidence that Mr. Gomos will bring to the role the strategic leadership, institutional capacity, and technical expertise required to reposition the Forum as an effective platform for collective security efforts, economic competitiveness, and sustainable development across the nineteen Northern states.

On behalf of the Government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang congratulated Mr. Ezekiel Gomos on this well-earned honour, praying for strength, wisdom, and good health as he undertakes his new and noble responsibility.
