Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has cautioned politicians plotting to manipulate results the 2027 election in the state election to desist or would face dire consequences, emphasizing that the will of God and the people will ultimately determine the outcome.
Speaking during the October edition of Alex Otti Speaks to Abians at the Government House in Umuahia, the governor made his stance clear.
In a video shared by Channels Television, Otti noted that he has no issue with anyone contesting the forthcoming election.
His remarks came in response to statements attributed to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who reportedly claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take over Abia State in 2027.
The governor urged political actors to respect the democratic process. He maintained that any attempt to subvert the people’s mandate through result writing or electoral malpractice would not be tolerated.
