‘Shanty Town’, a film produced by Chinenye Nworah, has led the nominations for 2023 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
Reports gathered that the nominees for the yearly award ceremony, which honours outstanding achievements in the Nigerian movie industry, were unveiled in a statement on Sunday.
Shanty Town’, a crime thriller created by Xavier Ighorodje and Chichi Nworah bagged fifteen nominations out of the 29 categories of the BON Awards.
Chloe Coko’s ‘Herdsmen’, and ‘Underbelly’ by Tunde Aina were each nominated in eleven categories.
The BON Awards ceremony was first held in December 2009, in Ikeja, Lagos and has continued to be a creative strata for the Nigerian movie industry.
The award ceremony has been hosted in different states including Ogun, Oyo, Kogi, Kano, Ekiti, Delta, and Abia, among others.
This year’s edition of the annual award ceremony is scheduled to hold on December 22 and the host state will be unveiled soon.
