Greek Woman Files for Divorce After ChatGPT Predicts Husband’s Affair Through Coffee Reading

A Greek woman has filed for divorce after claiming that ChatGPT revealed her husband’s infidelity by analyzing coffee grounds, a modern twist on the ancient divination practice of tasseography.

The woman, married for over ten years with two children, uploaded photos of coffee remnants from cups she and her husband used, seeking insight from the AI tool.

ChatGPT allegedly interpreted the patterns and predicted that the husband was involved with a younger woman, described as a threat to the family. It even specified that this woman had a name starting with the letter “E.” Meanwhile, the woman’s own cup reading was said to reveal betrayal and domestic instability, further fueling her suspicions.

The husband, interviewed on Greek television, dismissed the interpretation as a joke, blaming his wife’s tendency to be influenced by trends and viral ideas. However, he was stunned when she took the prediction seriously, asked him to leave their home, informed their children of the divorce, and then served him formal papers within days.

According to the husband’s lawyer, the AI-generated prediction is not legally admissible as proof of infidelity. He pointed out that a digital reading of coffee grounds does not qualify as credible evidence. The husband also mentioned this wasn’t his wife’s first reliance on mystical beliefs, referencing a past incident involving astrology that eventually faded.
