The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has apprehended 51 illegal migrants in New Nyanya, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

The migrants, all from Mali, are aged between 17 and 25. They were arrested in their hideouts following credible intelligence.
According to NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI A.S Akinlabi, 11 of the arrested individuals are females, while the remaining 40 are males.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the migrants could be victims of human trafficking and migrant smuggling. None of the individuals presented valid travel documents or residence permits during their interrogation.
The arrested migrants are currently in the custody of the Nigeria Immigration Service, where they are undergoing further profiling and investigation.
