The National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) has recorded over 68 million poor and vulnerable Nigerians in the National Social Register (NSR), covering 19 million households across the country. This database aims to support government social protection initiatives, including Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT).

NASSCO’s National Coordinator, Funmi Olotu, emphasized the agency’s commitment to transparency and ensuring impactful social protection programs.
However, opinions on the CCT disbursement process vary. While some beneficiaries, like Mohammed Awwal from Niger State, praised the digitalized and accountable approach using National Identity Numbers (NIN) and ATM cards, others, such as Dantala Ahmed from the FCT, criticized the lack of clarity compared to previous physical cash distributions.
The government aims to modernize the system for efficiency and transparency, with payments structured in three installments.
