Khamenei Rejects US Pressure, Condemns Western Approach to Iran’s Nuclear Deal

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, criticized the United States and Western powers for what he described as bullying tactics regarding Iran’s nuclear program. His comments came after former US President Donald Trump threatened military action if Iran refused to negotiate.

Khamenei accused the US and European nations Britain, France, and Germany of failing to uphold their commitments under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which Trump abandoned in 2018 before reimposing sanctions.

Despite diplomatic efforts, Iran has significantly increased uranium enrichment, with US officials warning that it could develop a nuclear weapon within weeks.

However, Tehran insists its program is peaceful, citing Khamenei’s religious decree against nuclear weapons. The Iranian leader reiterated his opposition to negotiations with the US, calling them “unwise,” and condemned Washington for previously violating the JCPOA.
