Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of LoveWorld (Christ Embassy), has attributed the departure of some gospel artistes from church to their shift in focus toward fame and financial gain rather than spiritual devotion.

In a viral video, Oyakhilome expressed concern that church worship had become worldly, losing its essence as a form of true devotion. He criticized the artistes for leading praise and worship but skipping prayer sessions, indicating a lack of genuine commitment to serving God.
He noted that many musicians began charging fees for performances and prioritizing personal success over spiritual responsibilities. Despite his efforts to guide them back to their spiritual calling, they resisted due to the allure of fame and money.
Oyakhilome expressed hope for their repentance, emphasizing the importance of maintaining worship as a sacred practice centered on winning souls and honoring God.
