Boko Haram/ISWAP Attacks Leave Dozens Dead in Borno State

In a series of deadly attacks, suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have killed a military commander, two senior officers, and 17 soldiers at a military base in Malam-Fatori, Abadam local government area of Borno State.

The attack occurred on Friday, January 24, 2025, and led to the dislodgment of the 149 Battalion as surviving soldiers fled. Multiple buildings and military vehicles were destroyed during the assault.

This incident follows a similar attack weeks earlier in Sabon Gari, Damboa local government area, where several soldiers were killed.

In another attack on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the insurgents stormed the Gadan Gari fishing community in Bama local government area, killing at least 20 fishermen. Reports suggest that many military personnel remain missing, with several others injured across the attacks.
