Residents of Aso Garden Estate in Maitama, Abuja, have petitioned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over structural damage to their homes caused by ongoing construction near the estate.

They reported issues such as wall cracks, weakened foundations, and safety hazards due to heavy vibrations from the construction site. The residents expressed fears over the potential risk to their properties and well-being.
In the petition, made available by estate representative Dr. Nurain Abayomi Mumuni, the residents criticized the lack of prior consultation before the project’s commencement.
They urged the minister to intervene urgently by assessing the construction’s impact, enforcing necessary safety measures, and upholding regulatory standards.
Furthermore, the petition emphasized the importance of engaging the affected community in discussions about developments that directly impact them. The residents requested a formal meeting with relevant authorities and construction management to address their grievances and find a mutually beneficial resolution.
