Julian Nagelsmann has extended his contract to remain Germany’s head coach until the end of Euro 2028, the German FA announced. His experience during Euro 2024, hosted by Germany, convinced him to stay for the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Euros.

Nagelsmann, who initially took over in 2023 on a short-term basis, signed the extension during the German FA’s 125-year anniversary celebrations in Leipzig. At 37, he is the second-youngest coach in Germany’s history and aims to rebuild the team after recent disappointments, including early exits from the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and Euro 2020.
