No fewer than sixteen prospective NYSC corps members from Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo State, (AFUED), Ondo, tragically lost their lives in a fatal accident while on their way to the Gombe NYSC Camp, with two survivors in critical condition.
The accident occurred earlier yesterday, in an 18-seater bus en route to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Gombe State along a northern highway, reportedly due to loss of vehicle control.
The Federal Road Safety Corps is expected to lead investigations, while neither NYSC nor the Presidency has yet released formal statements.
The 18-seater bus carrying them crashed, claiming the lives of the driver and many young Nigerians who only wished to serve their fatherland. May their souls rest in peace.
